The last day at the PC lab maybe not the last day

I stayed the half the morning and half the afternoon at my school’s computer lab helping my ex-teacher(bec. I am an alumni of that school) while enjoying a smooth flow of broadband Internet there. The school was not that far, only two blocks away so I can go home to eat lunch and back again. Well computer 10 needs to be replaced its motherboard by tomorrow and that’s why I’ll be back there again. We’ve got one more PC to finish. Yet it was fun, together with a parodied video of Nirvana by Weird Al HAHAHA !(do I sound too serious when in English??) I go there because there’s high-speed Internet access. Back here at home I’ve got only dial-up.

Weird Al’s stuff of doing things funny have found me interest. Well try to search Weird Al at youtube and watch it and you’ll end up LOL of its ridiculousness. Feeling ko talaga mukhang seryoso ako eh pero talaga matatawa ka talaga pag napanood mo yung mga videos ni Weird Al (ROFLOL)!!!! Oh no! I checked it on YouTube and embedding of it is disabled by request. BTW you can watch it directly HERE

Oh yeah, right I forgot to check some updates of prices of PC parts at an SM nearby. I usually do that. Check if they had already some Intel Core 2 Quad/extreme.

Do you remember SimTown?

Long time ago when we had no computer at the house I use to play this game everytime when we visit our cousins. Yesterday, I managed to borrow an old installer (acutally a compilation of Sim Games-SimCity,SimTower, etc.from my teacher. Man that was somehow unbelievable. I thought I would never be able to play that again because its old, you know - hard to find. Well, it works fine at my computer. Some won’t install or work because its a “16 bit program.” I’m still trying to work it out. BTW who want’s SimTown?? I may be able to upload it in a zip file into my bravehost account or ripway to share it out. (Maybe) Practically it’s illegal anyway. Well, I don’t play much anymore except this.

I miss my cousin…

The last time we met was last March 2007. She was the girl I was closest to. The problem is I cannot get to her. Gas price was so high and I cannot commute from here to Pila, Laguna. By the way, she’s my third degree cousin, but I don’t know why I had some feelings for her.. The worse is I had no pic of her. I tried to contact her phone but there was no answer.(sigh[anu bayan!])

Dati ganun, Ngayon ganito na..

Dati itong blog na ito supposed to be a Tagalog software news center lang, not thinking about my blogging. My mind haas changed, maybe there’s something more that I can do than scooping the latest techie news and putting it into tagalog. Then I met my first friend in the blogosphere other than WindowsX and Thoosje, eloiski. Nice! medyo malaki yung tulong niya saken eh. She’s the one that gave me the first initiative na sumabak sa mundo ng personal blogging at iba pang bagay. I haven’t met her in personal but soon I’ll send her another message (now that’s personal)

Then I next discovered wp-pinoys, it was so nice!! (basta something unexplainable yung feeling mo pag first timer ka dito) Well, I just met some bloggers, visit, their blogs, comment on them, add them to my blogroll.

This is a new level of friendship for me. Naver experianced before eh. So I signed in for accounts in twitter, feedburner, and other stuff that most bloggers have. I never considered myself a blogger before but now is the time to evolve. Dati bihira lang ako magpost ng mga nangyayari sa aking sarili most likely sa deviantART journals ko pinopost.

Hindi babagay ang mga widgets ko kaya inayos ko lang kanina. Yung mga words ko sa about page, napakaugly dati kaya niretouch ko rin.Thanks to my former teacher in HS computer Sir Fua, pinapagamit niya ako ng mga bagong computers sa aking old alma mater. BTW I am an incoming IT freshie, but I still have a privilege to return at lumingon sa pinanggalingan. Kaya may libeng internet ako sa school ngayon summer. May nacontribute din kasi ako kahit papaano doon noong student pa ako.

So this is me na ngayon, geeky pa rin, mahilig maginstall,uninstall,reformat,magbuo ng PC, magtroubleshoot ng Pc atbP pero nakatikim ng isa pang social touch.

Hanggang dito nga muna for today. BTW hindi ko mamaintain yung continuity ng pagkaenglish ko kasi dinudugo rin ako. Mahirap makahanap ng words.

Pwede pala yun: Firefox profiles

Ang isang profile sa Firefox ay naglalaman ng iyong mga settings, passwords at maging mga plug-ins nito. Magagamit mo ito sa mga maraming bagay. Isa na dito ang paggamit ng iba’t ibang settings, passwords sa friendster, at plug-ins. Parang yung profiles sa cellphone.

Ang problema nga lang eh yung kung paano makagawa at magmanage ng mga profiles na yun.

Buti na lang nahanap ko itong topic na ito kay jeet.

At eto na ang mga steps kung pano makagawa ng mga profiles sa FireFox:

1. iClose mo yung Firefox
2. punta ka sa Run sa Start Menu at itype mo ito: firefox.exe -p
3. Tapos lilitaw ang Profile manager Window na kung saan pwede ka nang makagawa ng profile para sa Firefox nice and easy.

Kung may problema ang Firefox sa mga plug-ins, imbis na ireinstall mo siya ay pwede ka nalang gumamit ng ibang profile sa pamamagitan nito. Kaya ayus diba?

Ang del.icio.us ay isang social bookmarking website (at isa ring paraan)na kung saan pwede mong itago, ipamahagi sa mga kaibigan ang mga web bookmarks mo. Pwede ka din maghanap dito ng topic na gusto mo sa pammamagitan ng mga bookmarks na nakalista dito. Karamihan sa atin ay pamilyar na sa paraang ito.

Eh yung vi.sualize.us? Kung sa del.icio.us ay puro links at webpages lang ang binubookmark nito, sa Vi.sualize.us naman ay puro pictures. Ito ay isa ding social bookmarking website na kung saan pwede mong mabookmark ang mga paboritong images/illustrations na nakita mo sa internet. Pwede mo ring maishare ang mga nabookmark mo sa mga kaibigan mo sa net. Sa Vi.sualize.us, pwede mong maisave yung image sa account mo sa loob ng 2 click lang. Pwede mo ring mai-organize ang mga ito sa pamamagitan ng tagging.

Paano patayin ang PC mo w/in 5 seconds?

Ito daw ang pinakamabilis na paraan para mashut-down safely ang kompyuter mo.

1. mag ctrl-alt-delete ka para mabuksan ang Task Manager.
2. I-click ang shut down sa itaas.
3. Itapat sa Turn Off ang mouse habang nakapindot ka sa ctrl key then CLICK!.

Ayun! magbilang lang ng 1..2…3….4…..5 AT patay na ang Kompyuter mo (Patay as in shut down hindi as in dedo)

Meron pang isang paraan: Pindutin ang Windows key tapos letter U tapos U ulit. (mas mabagal lang siya mamatay)

Photoediting/Retouching Tips for Pinoys

Lagi mong tatandaan ang mga puntong ito kapag nag-eedit ka o nag reretouch ka ng mga pictureskahit iba-iba ang mga ginagamit mong editor - GIMP, Photoshop, Paint .NET atbp.

1. Tandaan ang mga basic colors sa ilaw at ang mga kabaligtaran nito: RGB(Red-Green-Blue)-CMY(Cyan-Magenta-Yellow) Magagamit mo ito kapag sobra sa isang kulay ang isang picture HALIMBAWA: a)Dagdagan ng RED kapag sobra sa Light Blue/Cyan ang isang Pic. b)Bawasan naman ng red kapag gusto mong maging light-bluish ang pic. Magagawa niyo ito sa pamamagitan ng Color Balance (Meron nito sa GIMP at sa Photoship ewan ko lang sa iba) 
2. 100%Red+100%Green+100%Blue=WHITE ,0%Red+0%Green+0%Blue=BLACK. Gets mo yung formula. ETO pa yung iba R+G=YELLOW, G+B=CYAN, R+B=MAGENTA
3. Kapag magsasave ka, JPEG(Joint Photography Experts Group) ang usual format na ginagamit, ang BMP(windows bitmap) kasi masyadong makaki tapos hindi pa siya binabasa ng mga web browsers. Gamitin mo naman ang PNG(Portable Network Graphics) kapag may halong transparency o alpha channel ang image mo. Kung puro drawing naman o animation, mas mainam na gamitin ang GIF(Graphics Interchange format)
4. Sa JPEG compression, madalas 85% ang ginagamit na quality. Piliin mo ang 100% kung gusto mong full quality pero zero compression naman.
5. Mas mainam na gamitin ang  Unsharp Mask kaysa sa Sharpen kung ang mga pictures mo ay may mga CCD noise katulad nito:
6. Talagang mahirap pagandahin ang isang picture na hindi ginamitan ng flash.
7. Lagi mong pagmamasdan ang RED kapag nag reretouch ka ng isang picture kung OK na.
8. Dapat kasing kulay ng picture mo ang background pag pinalitan mo siya ng background. Dito mo din magagamit ang Color Balance 
9. Sa pamamagitan din ng color balance mafefeel mo ang isang picture.
10. Matuto kang tumingin ng kapangitan ng isang picture:

 

• <-maganda ang lighting, bahala ka na kung gusto mong gawing white ang pagka-yellowish nila.(Dagdagan lng ng red)
• Masyadong mataas ang Brightness tapos konti ang contrast.
• eto,eto,at etoMasyadong madilim.
• Masyadong marami ang CCD noise, mahirap maayos ito.
• Sobra ang Brightness
•      Mas maliwanag ang background kaysa sa subject.

Eto muna sakana yung iba pa..parang extension na rin ito ng Photoshop tutorials ko.

Indiana Jones 4 Movie Review

I’ll be posting this review in English so that other people can read it.

After watching twice the latest installment of the Indiana Jones franchise, The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, I decided to write a simple review of it. One note: I won’t tell you the whole plot. You’d better watch the movie.

AT the beginning of the movie, Indy is not introduced immediately unlike the first three. I didn’t expect that Indy would be encountering and surviving nuclear blast. (My favorite part.) That part was awesome! I can’t believe that he saw the Hydrogen bomb blow up that close!! That CGI effect was so authentic. On the Other hand, “Kaminoans meet Han Solo” in the last part. Those aliens look more like the Kaminoans from Star Wars. On the contrary, I don’t like much that part. Also, the movie has got some funny stuffs just like the old ones.

Visual Effects: during production, they said that they will use only a few CGI shots to make it look like the previous three. Well, the effect seems good. CGI matte paintings and some compositing looks very much real on a large scale, just like the scenes at the Amazon forest including those armies of large ants. I admire the way they created the nuclear test scene. It really looked the way it should be! Those warehouse crates looked 95% real.

Sound Effects: This would not become an Indiana Jones film without the wilhelm scream. And also some Star Wars like sound effects like the one they use when they blow up the switch to open the warehouse.

Music: John Williams did it again and he uses the themes used in previous films so that you can easily identify it as an Indiana Jones Movie. He used this style just like in the Star Wars films. He gave the movie a bit thrilling feel.The movie also features some 1950’s music.

Bottomline: The movie is somehow good for kids at this age while it seems to be designed for all ages. The movie hints some historic events and figures. It is somehow educational. Special effects of this movie have done great to make the film look very authentic and realistic. I suggest you have to watch this movie for yourself. Old Indy fans must be thrilled in Indy’s latest movie.

Messages from frustrated users began accumulating on the XP SP3 support newsgroup Wednesday, just a day after Microsoft released the update to the general public.

,”I just installed Windows XP SP3 and after completing the processes and when the system reboots, the system cannot proceed to load the Windows,” said a user labeled as “Olin” in a message that kicked off a long thread. “It just displays the flash screen of Windows then after it reboots again.

Most users who left messages on the forum said that they were unable to boot into Windows Safe mode.

Paano alisin yung virus sa mga USB drives???

Isa sa mga paraan kung papaano makapasok sa kompyuter mo ang isang virus ay ang mga USB flash drives. Karamihan sa mga virus na ito ay “ravmon”, “new folder.exe”, “orkut is banned”  at iba pang kahina-hinalang mga pangalan.

Sakto ito sa mga kompyuter na walang anti-virus.

Ito ang isang paraan para matanggal ang mga virus sa usb mo:

1. Diba pag may inilagay ka na Flash drive sa USB ng pc mo may lilitaw na parang ganito: ,, relax lang, Iclick mo lang yung cancel at WAG yung ok button.. 
2. Pumaunta ka sa satrt menu tapos sa run i-type modun yung cmd tapos i-enter mo. Lilitaw yung command prompt na parang ganito yung itsura niya:
3. I type mo naman doon ang drive letter ng USB drive mo example: E: or F: depende sa PC mo.. tapos enter ulit. I-type mo naman dir /w/a tapos enter. magdidisplay siya ng listahan ng mga files mo sa USB kasama na yung nga hidden files. i-check mo sa listahan na iyon kung meron ganitong files: Autorun.inf,ravmon.exe,New Folder.exe,svchost.exe,Heap41a o kahit anong kahinahinalang pangalan na sa tingin mo ay wala dapat doon.
4. Sunod mo naman ito itype sa command prompt attrib -r-a-s-h *.* tapos enter.
5. Ngayon burahin mo na yung mga files na sa tingin mo ay virus sa pamamagitan ng command na del filename (example del ravmon.exe) tapos enter. Burahin mo dapat yung mga kahinahinalang mga files na iyon.
6. AYUN ayos na at tanggal na yung virus!

TIPS ko SAYO tol,pare,men!!!

Disable the Autoplay feature of USB drives. Mas ligtas ka kapag nakadisable yung autorun sa mga USB drives
